Because Internet Marketing Is More Than Just Great Design
Newsletter signup box
I use MailChimp to send a newsletter a couple of times a month, and have a sign-up box top right of my Wordpress site www.personalchangemagic.co.uk.
The site is attracting traffic - nothing spectacular, but in line with previous sites I've run. Yet no-one ever signs up! When I had a previous site and used iContact I'd get a few people subscribing each month (yes I know all these numbers need boosting!)
So I'm wondering what's stopping people from subscribing now. Is it the site design? The freebie (I'm thinking of adding a free audiobook that I've recorded as an extra incentive)? MailChimp (which seems excellent in every respect so far though)? Wordpress (no reason to think that really as the stats. seem good). I just cannot put my finger on what's lacking right now.
If anyone has a couple of minutes I'd really appreciate it if you'd visit my site and see what you think - feel free to go through the sign up process to test it if you wish (that's not a trick to get you on my list :-) if you're not interested immediately unsubscribe or ask me to do it for you).

My first thought is that it's not obvious it's a newsletter signup - it says "E-course and bi-weekly Life Enhancement Guide"
Give me a call to action "Sign up to our weekly / monthly newsletter and receive xxx free" tells me i'm signing up to a newsletter.
