I have learnt a HORRIBLE lesson about conversion pages this week, which if I had implemented sooner I could have instantly with no more traffic trebled my CV business. And it would seem from a quick check of three members here it is a pretty common mistake.....
*NikkiP's page fails
*Su Butcher's Barefoot & Giles page fails
*Sarah Arrow's ALH page and her ALH blog page pass
I am even more sick because it's a lesson I learnt a long, long time ago. It is also one which if all you read is Anglicised versions of American IM thought, you will fail in as well
ok, what do I pass? is it the reading age level, I currently aim for 15 years old... dumbing down in the extreme but you have to reach the most customers and the higher reading level there is, makes it harder to reach all your potential customers
We delivered a motorbike for an SEO chap and he was thrilled to bits, he rang me the next day and told me off for not making it easy for people to contact me, and told me to do that :)
Glad he was a happy customer, or I may never have known!
Hi Ian - I implemented your suggestion of a contact number on the landing page above the fold and have to say that my conversion rate went down! Didn't change anything else on the page. Quite strange..
