299 Steps to Website Heaven

Because Internet Marketing Is More Than Just Great Design

If you have a blog on your web site, is there an SEO implication of having the blog on the home page (with a bit of static text at the top to tell people / search engines what the site is about), vs having a static home page and the blog on a separate page on the site? Or both, as with this site - http://www.gaviningham.com/?

What do you experts think?

Hi Andy

I don't think it makes a massive difference, as long as the content is on the site - I have to say that I do like the 'latest blog on the front page of the site' look though and have been thinking how to implement it in my own site.

Hope this helps, sorry for the delay, have had some issues logging into 299 with FF grrr

It is something I've been thinking about too. I feel with both www.acpr.co.uk and www.familyfriendlyworking.co.uk that the up to date news is always hidden away on the blog. However, the blog pages don't look as well designed as perhaps I'd like to have on the front page .... I'm having a bit of a dilemma on this one!

Look half way down the page, just below "Blog" here - would that headline animator from Feedburner help you at all?
